Suggested settings for Google Earth 5™ virtual tours:

Setting the Google Earth 5 options correctly will create a more pleasant experience when

viewing one of our geologic virtual tours. In the Tools –Options –3D View menu, we

recommend setting the Elevation Exaggeration to 1, which displays more natural looking

terrain in Google Earth.

Next, in the Tools –Options –Touring menu, we suggest 8 seconds Time Between

Features (field trip stops) and a 30 second Wait at Features to read the information

balloons that will popup at each stop. However, these timings can be set to whatever you

wish. Remember to check the option to Show balloon when waiting at features.

Many balloons will take longer than 30 seconds to read, but you can pause the tour at any

time by pressing the play/pause button on the tour control bar in the lower-left corner of

the Google Earth window, and then press play/pause again to continue the tour.
